Get Social With MS Outlook

Microsoft seems to be opening up to third party Social Media in a big way. With Outlook 2010 you can integrate Social Media account information for your contacts in new and exciting ways. When you open an email for example social media account info associated with that person is displayed and you can befriend them straight from Outlook.

This functionality is even backwards compatible with Outlook 2003 and 2007.
In order to activate this functionality for your Outlook installation you have to do 2 things:

Here's How

1.Get the Outlook Social Connector. Follow the instructions and install it.As usual take care to loaad the right plugin for your 32 bits or 64 bits installation. Here's the link for the 32 Bit version:

2. Select Social network plugins you want to add to Outlook (LinkedIn,MySpace, WinLive Messenger, Facebook) by clicking on each icon. This opens a download page and further instructions to add each plugin. As usual take care to load the right plugin for your 32 bits or 64 bits installation. For more Plugins check on network sites (Xing for example introduced this functionality today).
