QUALIFICATION STATEMENT
Native Nations Trade and Development is a Native American non-profit formed with the Hoopa Valley Tribal Council; making use of their Tribal Business Ordinances qualifying the organization with non-profit status meeting the IRS Tax Codes for non-profits. Formed in 2009 based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Prior to forming Native Nations Trade and Development, Mr. Booth background and experience has been with state government, Native American non-profits, public sector and tribal government working most of adult life serving Alaska Native and Native American Communities and Tribal Leadership. Most of the work involved liaison role between tribes and elected officials seeking Native participation in state planning, transportation planning, submitting to program information tribes’ available resources.

v Attended Grantmanship Training Center workshop on Grant Writing
v Staff for Natural Resources and Planning Committee implementing tribal and community plans

2. Co-authored Enterprise Community Grant qualifying Tribe for 10 years Grant and Community Designated “Enterprise Community.” Under USDA – Rural Development receiving $250 K per year for 10 years.
3. Attended Listening Conference with President Clinton’s Cabinet Members overseeing Indian Programs both in Washington, DC and Albuquerque, New Mexico with face to face meeting with Secretary of Interior
v State Government Arizona liaison role giving to tribes state programs directed toward the tribes of Arizona providing technical assistance and training on how to qualify for state programs. Monitored contracts assigned to Native Americans of Arizona
v Non-Profit participation with alternative energy specific liaison between non-profits and tribes introducing possibilities in alternative energy uses by the Tribes
v Non-profit introducing tribes to global marketing of tribal products including lumber and timber and seafood products
v Non-profit participation introducing Tribes to potential investors for seafood production
v Quasi - Government entity responsible for Federal Transportation Planning assigned three tribes seeking their participation in freeway planning.
Successful Projects:
v Tribal Artist Building collaborated on grant writing and building is now used as part of Metlakatla Indian Community Tribal Tourism Program
v With other Tribal Council Members lobbied for Water and Sewer Projects
v With other Tribal Council Members lobbied for Modernization and Upgrading of Seafood Processing Plant
v Implemented Tribal Participation with Transportation Planning with Quasi-Government Entity
